The instructions below apply from the date of the last contact with the sick person indicated in the letter, email or text message you received.


Should I self-isolate? YES

  • Self-isolate at home for 10 days.
  • If you live with someone who has COVID-19 and you can't isolate yourself from them:
    • You must self-isolate for 14 days after his (her) first symptoms (or the COVID-19 test if no symptoms).
  • You must not: 
    • Go to work or school. 
    • Visit family or friends. 
    • Engage in activities outside the home. 
    • Spend time in public places. 

Should I get tested? YES

  • Get tested today, even if you have no symptoms.  
  • If you are living with someone who has COVID-19 and you cannot isolate yourself from them, you should be tested again two days before the end of your isolation. 
  • Stay home until the end of your isolation even if your test results are negative.

How long should I watch for new symptoms? 

  • Monitor your symptoms for 14 days after your last contact with the sick person.
  • If you have any symptoms during this period: 
    • Complete the self assessment tool and follow the recommendations. 
    • If you need to be tested because you have symptoms, the people who live with you should isolate themselves while waiting for your test result.
