The CIUSSS de l'Estrie - CHUS would like to promote community involvements in long-term care facilities by supporting activities organized by various organizations for residents.

The residents...
A CHSLD provides a living environment for people who, because of their loss of autonomy, can no longer remain in their own homes. Some people are lucid, but physically dependent. Others have preserved their mobility, but are cognitively impaired.
Come take part in an activity at a CHSLD in the Eastern Townships, to the delight of the residents and yours!

Activity options
- Up to $1,000 per organization may be reimbursed for expenses incurred in carrying out activities*.
- More than one activity may be submitted (maximum $1,000 reimbursement per organization).
- All activities that do not require funding and that meet the selection criteria (see below) may be carried out.
* Expenses claimed must be related to the activity. They cannot be used to purchase permanent equipment not dedicated to the activity. Examples of reimbursable expenses: transportation to and from the center, crafts materials, souvenirs or cards for guests, etc.
All submitted activities will be evaluated as they are received.
Examples of group activities
- Arts and crafts, painting, etc.
- Singing, music, dance and theater performances (practices, rehearsals, avant-première, etc.)
- Quiz, memory games, themed activities, reading, storytelling, oral presentations, etc.
- Food preparation and tasting, culinary workshops, etc.
- Viewing of sport events, movies, etc.
- Sports demonstrations (e.g. karate, cheerleading, etc.)
- Learning session (hairdressing, beauty therapy, etc.)
- Thematic conference
Spaces and equipment at your disposal
- Common rooms
- Multimedia devices (projector, screen, TV, etc.)
- Outdoor spaces (backyard, garden, terrace, etc.)
Criteria for selecting and evaluating activities
- Relevance: The activity is accessible to a significant group of residents and will contribute to generating one of the positive effects mentioned above.
- Achievability: the activity is simple enough for participants to organize themselves.
- Adaptability: The activity can be adapted to suit the needs and restrictions of residents and facilities.
- Quality: the activity is clear, safe, well-defined and planned.
- Your activities can be submitted now and completed at any time between now and March 31, 2026
Precisions:
- A person from the CHSLD or Senior and alternative housing can support the organization in managing and involving residents.
- Snack tasting is not recommended in activity proposal due to food safety risks
