Les CHSLD et les maisons des aînés et alternatives ouvrent leurs portes à la communauté!
Le CIUSSS de l’Estrie – CHUS souhaite favoriser l'implication des partenaires communautaires dans les milieux d'hébergement de longue durée par la tenue d'activités de divers organismes avec les personnes hébergées.

Objectives

For participants:
- Fostering intergenerational connections
- Contribute to the development of a sense of self-worth and fulfillment by doing something for others
- Raise participants' awareness of the realities of residents’ lives
- Offer participants the opportunity to share their talents and knowledge
- Contribute to the development of various skills (self-confidence, leadership, creativity, communication, openness to the world, etc.).
The residents...
A CHSLD provides a living environment for people who, because of their loss of autonomy, can no longer remain in their own homes. Some people are lucid, but physically dependent. Others have preserved their mobility, but are cognitively impaired.
Come take part in an activity at a CHSLD in the Eastern Townships, to the delight of the residents!

Activity options
- Grants up to 1000$ each in value will be awarded for activities*
- No limit for activities that do not require funding.
* A selection committee, including residents and their families, will analyze all submitted activities.
Examples of group activities
- Arts and crafts, painting, etc.
- Singing, music, dance and theater performances (practices, rehearsals, avant-première, etc.)
- Quiz, memory games, themed activities, reading, storytelling, oral presentations, etc.
- Food preparation and tasting, culinary workshops, etc.
- Viewing of sport events, movies, etc.
Spaces and equipment at your disposal
- Common rooms
- Multimedia devices (projector, screen, TV, etc.)
- Outdoor spaces (backyard, garden, terrace, etc.)
Criteria for selecting and evaluating activities
- Relevance: the activity meets one or more of the above objectives and is accessible to a significant group of residents.
- Achievability: the activity is simple enough for participants to organize themselves.
- Adaptability : The activity can be adapted to suit the needs and restrictions of residents and facilities.
- Quality: the activity is clear, well-defined and planned.
- Timetable: the activity must be carried out between October 2023 and June 2024.
Precision :
- A person from the CHSLD can support the organization in managing and involving residents.
Recognition
Each participant in the selected activities will receive a certificate of recognition for their contribution and involvement.
Outreach
The CIUSSS de l'Estrie - CHUS will promote the selected activities (to its staff and the media). Organizations and participants will benefit from this outreach.
