What are your options if...

You have a physical health problem

    For advice or to see a health-care professional, call: 

    • Your pharmacist
    • 811 option 1
    • The office of your doctor or your Nurse Practitioner (NP)
    • 811 option 3, if you do not have a doctor or NP

      

    For example:

    • Your temperature is higher than 39°C (102°F) and is not going down despite of taking medication.
    • Your throat has been sore for more than 3 days and you are not getting better.
    • You have been vomiting for 6 hours and are not getting better.
    • Your headache persists despite taking medication.
    • You injured yourself, and despite icing, the site is still very swollen after 2 days.
    • The pain is preventing you from carrying out your activities, working, or resting.
    • Etc.

    You have a social, psychological or mental health problem

      For support or to speak to a counsellor, call: 

      • 811, option 2
      • The CLSC

      If you have suicidal thoughts

      • Call the helpline 1-866-277-3553 (1-866-APPELLE)
        or
      • Visit suicide.ca 

        

      For example : 

      • You feel very anxious, stressed, or overwhelmed.
      • You are worried about someone close to you. 
      • You are experiencing difficulties in your family or in your relationship.
      • You are experiencing grief or a significant loss.
      • You have questions about other situations or behaviors that worry you, either about yourself or a family member.
      • Etc.

      You have an emergency

        Call 911 or go to the emergency room.

          

        Your life is in danger or you need care rapidly. For exemple:  

        • You have trouble breathing.
        • You can’t catch your breath
        • You feel like you are suffocating.
        • You have a strong pain in your chest or stomach.
        • You suddenly have a very bad headache.
        • You have a burn or serious injury.
        • You lose feeling on one side of your body
        • Etc.
