Local community services centre (CLSC)
CLSCs offer health and social services close to home. Their mission is to provide access to primary care, psychosocial services, and health promotion and prevention activities. They also provide services in the community and in people’s homes when needed. Services may vary from one CLSC to another, depending on the needs of the local community.

Screening for STBBIs
Screening, prevention and treatment services for sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBIs), for people who are at higher risk.
Chronic Disease Program
Caring for your health is a free program offered to adultes aged 18 ans over who wish to improve their health, prevent or control :
- wish to adopt or modify certain lifestyle habits (nutrition, physical activities, stress, drug and alcohol abuse, use of stimulants, smoking)
- have high blood pressure (hypertension), are overweight or obese, are prediabetic or have high cholesterol levels
- have a confirmed diagnosis for a chronic disease (diabetes, obesity, heart disease, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)).
Routine health Services (nursing care)
Routine health care includes basic, quick, non-urgent nursing care for people who are able to come to a CLSC. Here are some examples of care you can receive:
- Wound care
- Removal of stitches and staples
- Ostomy care
- Urinary catheter care
- Venous catheter care
- Intravenous antibiotic therapy

Services for families, parents et childreen
- Prenatal class
- Postpartum follow-up for the mother and baby
- Breastfeed support
- Youth Clinic (STBBIs, contraception and others services)
- Vaccination for Children 0-3 years
- Support for families, parents and children facing challenges
If you have concerns about your child’s development or behaviour, or if you are dealing with a situation that concerns you, contact your CLSC.
Home Care
Home support allows people to receive the care and services they need in their own home. It helps maintain or improve their health, well-being and quality of life, support their independence, and provide assistance to caregivers and loved ones.
These services are for people who :
- experiencing loss of autonomy
- have a physical disability
- have a intellectual disability or autism spectrum disorder
- are unable to leave their home to receive services elsewhere
- have difficulty with everyday activities, such as bathing or eating
- are living with a chronic disease, physical limitations, or cognitive impairment, such as Alzheimer’s disease
Services are also available to support caregivers and loved ones.

Support for social, psychological or mental health concerns
Psychosocial support is available to help people who are going through a difficult situation, such as anxiety, stress, separation, relationship or family difficulties, or grief. It is also available to people who have questions or concerns about other situations or behaviours affecting themselves or a loved one.
