The instructions below apply from the date of the last contact with the sick person indicated in the letter, email or text message you received.

Should I self-isolate? NO

  • You can continue your activities unless you have COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Avoid contact with people who are particularly vulnerable to COVID-19 for 10 days (e.g., the elderly, people with chronic illnesses or weak immune systems).  

Should I get tested? YES

  • Get tested today, even if you have no symptoms. 
  • Get a second test eight days after your last contact with the COVID-19 case.
  • Testing is not required if you tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 6 months.
  • Special screening instructions may apply if you have worked in a health-care setting where there were cases of COVID-19. 
    • Contact your employer for instructions.

How long should I watch for new symptoms? 

  • Monitor your symptoms for 14 days after your last contact with the sick person.
