Programs

Maternité sans danger (preventive withdrawal)

Are you a pregnant worker who worries that your job poses a risk to your health and that of your unborn child? You may be entitled to preventive withdrawal.

Speak to your attending physician. He will request an assessment to determine whether there are occupational risks in your job and whether reassignment or preventive withdrawal is necessary. For further information, visit the Maternité (French only) section on the Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST) website csst.qc.ca/travailleurs/maternite/Pages/maternite.aspx

Low income parents (SIPPE et OLO Programs)

Olo program: the Olo program aims to give families an equal opportunity to give birth to healthy babies and to acquire healthy nutritional habits early in life. The program includes follow-up care and food distribution (eggs, milk, frozen vegetables and prenatal vitamins) to low-income pregnant women for healthy mothers and babies. This program also includes follow-up by a nutritionist or psychosocial worker or nurse. The only one eligibility criterion: a low income (struggling to make both ends meet).

SIPPE program : A professional follow-up adapted to the needs of future parents with low-income (struggling to make both ends meet) and presenting one of these two situations or both: having not completed high school or living in social isolation. Support services are offered to parents before and after birth by the CLSC with the collaboration of community organizations when possible. Note that an OLO program is automatically included with any SIPPE follow-up. Learn more on SIPPE

Screening for Trisomy

The Programme québécois de dépistage prénatal (PQDP) aims to make prenatal screening for trisomy 21, trisomy 18 and trisomy 13 available to pregnant women and couples in Quebec, based on certain criteria. The PQDP is a new version of the Programme québécois de dépistage prénatal de la trisomie 21, which is complemented by a non-invasive prenatal genomic test.
