Each year in Québec, there are more than 1000 suicides:
Each day: 3 people commit suicide in Québec.
In Estrie: 1 person commit suicide every 5 days
The suicide rate is:
- 3 times higher for men than women.
- the 2nd leading cause of death among 18-39 years old.
- higher among 45-64 years old, both women and men.

- "I want to go to sleep and not wake up."

- "I made out my will."
- "I am going on a long trip."
- "I'm going to my affairs in order."
Warning Signs
- Isolation and withdrawal
- Withdrawal at work or school
- Loss of energy and not reacting to the loss of a loved one
- Sudden hyperactivity
- Extreme slowness
- Giving away of cherished objects
