A checklist for moms and babies containing essential post-delivery information developed by the maternity unit teams.

If you are concerned about your or your baby’s health, call 811 to reach a Info-Santé nurse, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Many available programs and services are there to support you after you return home with your baby and during the first years of his life.

Postnatal monitoring

Postnatal monitoring is available to you after the birth of your child. Hospital birth: A CLSC nurse will contact you within 24 hours of your hospital discharge and will schedule a home visit with you to assess the health status of both you and your baby. She can also answer your questions and those of your partner to facilitate your adaptation to your newborn child. Midwife delivery: Your midwife will notify you of the postnatal monitoring available.

Parental meetings and support

Services offered in your community, including meetings for neonates with health care professionals. 

For breastfeeding support, visit the Breastfeeding page. If needed, you can contact a perinatal nurse at your CLSC or Info-Santé at the 811 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week).
